It's A Guy Thing...

I am well aware that I am outnumbered in our homestead. But, this picture just makes me so happy to be outnumbered. I have such great boys'/man in my life that makes being outnumbered such a blessing!

(Sorry for the horrible quality of this picture! Aiden got a hold of my camera and had it on a really funky setting and the lens had boy grime on it!)

Day 14: A Sweet Homecoming...

Well, my 14 Day Blog Challenge is done! It has been fun and I am hoping to keep up more frequent blog posts, but another reason that I gave myself this blog challenge is that Jeff has been traveling for the past two weeks.  This was a good way for him to keep with our day to day happening's. So, hence why I didn't blog about Father's Day because we didn't have a Daddy at home to celebrate with! Jeff was in France and just got home! The boys' and I did have a good two weeks at home, but I would much rather be a family of four than three!  We are all so happy to have him home!!!!

Day 13: A New Sheriff In Town

Yes, the new Costco just opened this morning in Coralville! This is pretty exciting stuff folks!

                                                            WITH THAT BEING SAID.......

I was really excited to check it out!

                                                                         SO.....

                                I fed my kids' breakfast there!  I'm a good Mom, aren't I?!?

                                                                         AND...

Tyson got a free diaper sample! He was very exited then too!

I hadn't planned on going just yet, but with the heat today and needing to get out of the house this morning for a bit, it seemed like the most logical thing to do! We did have a good time checking out the new store and all of the free food/merchandise samples at the end of every aisle didn't hurt either!

Day 12: A Breakfast Date

This morning Aiden and I dropped Tyson off at school and we headed to one of our Iowa City fav's...Bluebird Diner! They seriously have the BEST coffee! Not to mention a great atmosphere and yummy food! It was a nice little breakfast date with my oldest little man. As always, he ate his weight in pancakes! Love him!

Day 9: He's not my baby anymore...

We've hit sort of a 'right of passage' in our house. About a month ago, we had a Garage Sale and sold all of our baby gear. It was emotional, but it felt good after it was over. I feel like over the past week, Tyson has decided on his own to go from being my baby to a big boy! I know that both of the boys' will forever be my babies, there is something so sad, but also very freeing to know that we are entering into another phase in our boys' lives. Tyson has recently decided that he no longer wants to sit in his booster seat at the dinner table and just this past weekend, he no longer wanted to sleep in the Pack N' Play!

Like I was saying, a bit sad, but it also feels good to know that we are officially almost out of 'baby jail'! I mean that in the nicest way possible, but we have had very, very, very small children for nearly 5 years now and the idea of being able to pick up and go a bit more freely is very refreshing!

The next step in the next week or so, is to set up Tyson's new big boy bed and take down the crib! Yes, as I am typing this, the thought of Jeff taking apart that crib brings a tear to my eye!!!! Waaahhhh!!!!

Here are a few pictures of the big boy...

Day 8: We are rats...

The boys' are pool rats. They love the pool. Splashing.  Swimming.  Going down the slide.  Running through the splash pad.

Hello Summer!!!

And....

I am a rat for forgetting my camera today! (Bad, bad Mommy!)

Have a great weekend!!

Day 7: Take Me Out To The Ball Game...

Take me out with the crowd.

Buy me some peanuts and Crackerjacks.
I don't care if I never get back!

Let me root, root, root for the home team.
                            If they don't win it's a shame.

For it's one, two, three striks you're out at the old ball game!

(Aiden has been playing Blastball through the North Liberty Rec Center the past few weeks. Last night with was the big rivalry game against Isabella Kellbach!)

Day 6: The Early Bird Gets The Worm!

Our day started out rather early this morning! Here is how it all played out at 5:00 a.m.:

Ty: "Mommy, it's Ty! Come here!"
Me: "Ty, it's not time to get up yet. I am going to change your diaper, give you juice, and back to bed for      you."
Ty: "Mommy, Ty has to go potty!"

Off he goes to the bathroom....bang goes the door on his way in......turns on bathroom lights.....bang goes the toilet seat as he's bringing it up.....sccreeech goes his step stool to the toilet....awesome!!!!

Aiden: "Is everyone up?!?" (as he jumps out of his bed and runs out of his room)
Me: "No, your brother just has to go potty and then we are all going back to bed!"

Ty went back to his crib, Aiden crawled in bed with me, and I layed there for another 20 minutes listening to two very wild boys' who were ready to start their day! We were all up and watching cartoons in the living room by 5:45!

The boys' don't know this yet, but everyday that this happens I am plotting my revenge when they are teenagers and wanted to sleep until noon...ha!

Playing at the farm at the Iowa Childrens' Museum
Thank goodness for a cool house with air conditioning that is quiet this afternoon because are all getting a much needed nap before Tball! Although our day started so early, we did have a fun morning meeting up with our friends' Dawn and Kate at the mall from some Childrens' Museum time and Chick-Fil-A!

Day 5: Teddy Bear Picnic

Ty had a special day at school today, Teddy Bear Picnic Day. All of the kids' could bring their favorite stuffed animal. They had a picnic outside for lunch and did various activities with them throughout the day. Ty chose to take Grayden the Kitty!

Not sure if it's the hot temps or two very busy days at work, but I am spent tonight! A cup of frozen yogurt and a few episodes of Smash are next on my agenda. (Yes, I just jumped on the Smash bandwagon and I am now catching up on Season 1 online...LOVE IT!!!!)

Day 4: Breakfast for Supper...

What is about breakfast that is served anytime after 12 p.m. is so much tastier? Why is that french toast and sausage links are a complete hit with two starving boys' at 5:30 p.m.? I am not sure of these answers, but I tend to agree with THESE two boys'! Yummy!!!!

Happy Monday!! Only 4 more days until Saturday morning pancakes, donuts, cold pizza from the night before, or whatever!!

Day 3: A Day of Rest...Well Kind Of

Oh Sunday a day to rest before going head first into the oncoming week, but with a 4 1/2 and 2 year old, we are lucky to all get a Sunday afternoon nap! Today started out with church, a quick trip to Wal-Mart, and then lunch before the ever so hopeful nap for the Davis household! Mission accomplished this afternoon..yay!!! Tyson was quick to slumber, but Aiden fought it as usual, but lost his battle to the 'Sleep Fairy' a half hour later. This allowed me some time with my Kindle and a quick 30 minute snooze before we hit the ground running again! The afternoon was Aiden's chose today....

A) Coralville Pool
B) I.C. Library to return books in hopes of some new and exciting books and/or movies.

Aiden chose option B and we had a great time!

Trying to decide what 'Mighty Machines' movie to check out

Ty doing some 'work' on the computer waiting for brother to decide on a movie!

Since both of the boys' were so good at the library, I surprised them with a summertime first! Their first trip to the Lower City Park Rides! An I.C. tradition that I am grateful that our boys' will be able to have as one of their childhood memories growing up in Iowa City!

I had to make this picture XL because the teenager "driving' the train appears to be texting and conducting?!? I had to  chuckle and shake my head all at the same time!!

Of course the boys' couldn't wait to watch the new 'Mighty Machines' movie, so a carpet picnic was on the agenda for supper!

Day 2: An Adventure...

Today we went on an adventure! Our adventure did not take us too far from home, but the short 25 miles brought us to parks and neighborhoods that were new to us!

(SPEAKING of 25 miles, I am sure our Aunt Katherine was NOT thinking that 25 miles was short this morning as she ran her first Marathon this morning! Needed to give her a little shout out becasue she is AMAZING and we love her soooo much!!!!)

1st Stop: Bever Park to Old McDonald's Farm

Looking at the ducks

Driving the tractor

Looking at all of the ducks and chipmunks

Having a snack!

2nd Stop: A new splash pad!

3rd Stop: DQ...but my camera battery died...ugh!
BUT, ice cream for dinner is the perfect way to end the day, right?!?

4th Stop: Home with two very tired boys'!

Day 1: The 14 Day Blog Challenge!

Alright, I am trying to be a better blogger so that I can chronicle all of the witty and crazy happenings of our life, but I often let this go to the wayside all too often! So, I am giving myself a 14 Day Blog Challenge people!!! That's right...14 days....a blog post everday! I can't promise it will be excitng, but my goal is to chronicle the boys' lives for 14 days so that one day when we look back to the Summer of 2012, we will have somewhat of a taste of the season of life that we were once in! So, check in daily...every few days...maybe not all, but  hopefully you enjoy it!!! (If you become a Follower of my Blog, then I can see this, and this will give me more ooommpppfff to keep going!)

I HAD to end this post with this hilarous picture! I hope that you find this as funny as I do! Today the boys' were watching their twice daily dose of Cailou and this is what I encountered as I walked through the living room with my 4th load of laundry for the day! A homemade recliner folks!!! These IKEA chairs have been the source of so many creative avenues in our house over the past year! Boat, fort, Matchbox car ramp, bridge, and now recliner!!!

Our backyard pool oasis...

We recently purchased a $25 inflatable pool from Target. It has proven to be a good purchase because the boys' can slide into it from one end from the slide and Jeff and I can relax and drink an adult beverage from the other end! I am sure we will have many more hot afternoons in our backyard this summer!
